Japanese proverb 諺:
隣りの白飯より内の粟飯 - となりのしろめしよりうちのあわめし Nothing beats one’s own. / One may not have much, but it is still better to be happy with what you’ve got than coveting things you may never have.
(lit. Our millet [meal] is better than the neighbour’s white rice.)
