P.S. Did you know that the waterfall plays an important role in a famous kabuki play called Narugami? The play tells the story of a disgruntled priest Narugami 鳴神上人 who seals the Dragon God 竜神, the bearer of rain, behind the waterfall, causing extreme draughts to sweep the country. The only person brave enough to confront Narugami is Princess Kumonotaema 雲の絶間姫, who uses her feminine charm and wits to break the seal and set the Dragon God free.
