Japanese proverb 諺：
破れ鍋に綴じ蓋 - われなべにとじぶた Two of a kind. / Two peas in the pod.
This proverb describes two people who may not be necessarily alike (as if they came from a different sets of ‘pots’, or somehow got ‘damaged’ and separated from their original counterparts along the way), but are a surprisingly good match and compliment each other very well.
(lit. A repaired lid on a broken pot.)
